I am delighted to welcome you to Eastwood Nursery. With a commitment to child learning we are proud to have provided early years educational excellence in the local area for 35 years.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to explore the website and learn about our nursery. The nursery opened in 1985 and offers a provision for children from birth to 5 years from 8am to 6pm. We also offer a school holiday club and an after school club until 6:30pm.

Parents seeking local independent nursery care and education will appreciate the lovely Victorian building and high standards of childcare. We are equipped to provide your children with the best environment for their learning and education. The site of the nursery creates a friendly atmosphere where each child is known individually, with sufficient numbers to ensure healthy competition and a full range of opportunities. The nursery is well established and recommended by our parents to other parents.

We have recently added an Art and Music Room to add opportunities for children to further develop their learning in these areas. The day to day supervision of the nursery is the responsibility of an experienced manager who, with the principal, establish the learning programme and develop the welfare of the children.

We offer our children basic French lessons covering greetings, numbers, colours and French songs. We also introduce our children to public speaking. Other activities include Irish dancing, music lessons and our garden classroom where we try to expand children's awareness of the natural world by promoting their cognitive, social and personal development.

By growing our nursery garden we can integrate the learning into the early years curriculum which covers fine motor movement, understanding the world, language and social skills.

Aims and Values

Our nursery has always put high standards at the centre of all that it undertakes. All pupils will find themselves in an environment which will stimulate, challenge and excite their development so that every child will be encouraged to reach their fullest potential over the widest range of activities.

The nursery promotes an interest and sense of pride in academic work in order to promote learning which is essential to succeed in school, further education and later life. Development of a sense of moral and social values is seen as equally important and we also look to develop these vital qualities to carry them through school and later life.
